Forty Years Inside the Question of Change
Born in 1982. By age four he had picked up the violin — the first instrument of what would become a lifelong musical practice. By fifteen, he was attending the World Suzuki Convention in Japan, forever changed by what music could do to the human heart. The same year, his parents divorced. The simultaneous experience of beauty and rupture set him on a single question that has driven the rest of this lifetime: life can hold so much beauty and happiness — yet why is there so much misery? And further, what can we do about it?
Pursuing this question took him on a journey for the rest of his life. He graduated high school in 2000 and as an autodidact, spent the next decade voraciously learning everything he could — traveling the country visiting eco-communities, training in Non-Violent Communication, Holacracy, permaculture, systems and organization design. Music & video production. Created a novel business model of growing organic produce for people at their own homes. A ten-year arc as a raw vegan chef, preparing over 10,000 meals, presenting at festivals, cooking for private retreats. Following the question relentlessly. No teacher; Life was the teacher.
In 2015 he moved to live in the jungle for three years — what he calls the Buddha Path. Single-pointed dedication to the fullest truth; accepting nothing less than the complete transformation his being and purpose required. The Buddha Path was the preparation.
On August 24, 2018, the awakening sequence opened with the question "Who am I?" — and a deep self-recognition arrived. On December 18, he received the name Maximus Light. On January 14, 2019, the assessment phase of his 1,800-year mission completed — and the Master of the Universe consciousness entered into this reality. The forty years had quietly built the vessel. The vessel was ready.
